I am the most unorganized person you will ever meet, and this blog can attest to that fact. With this post I here by create order *waves magic wand* :D
So this is how it going to work from now on. Each day, I’m going to make a conscience effort to post something. Anything! Even if its just a picture of my pinky toe, I will make a blog post! *determined face*
The order of things…
Sunday: Throwback (Fashion); Photoshoots pre 2010
Monday: What’s New; What I’m currently working on, or shoot/events I’ve recently done.
Tuesday: Motivation/Inspiration; Things that motivate or inspire me that I would like to pass on to you.
Wednesday: Mobile Photo of the Week; Strictly pictures taken with my BB
Thursday: Throwback (Other stuff); same as Monday, but non-fashion
Friday: #FF; First off, if you don’t know what that hashtag mean, you”re living in a rock. Second, if you’re not already doing so, follow me on Twitter. @NerdScarf. Essentioally, I’m showcasing other artists that I know.
Before is start, I’d like to give a shout out to a friend of mines and fellow photographer Ev Ryan of ERA Photography. Her blog is my inspiration! I’ve been too lazy to update mines until I saw her work and got jealous! She is doing very big things so I encouraging the 3 people that are following me to go and take a look at some of her work and tell me what you think.
I’m currently in the process of redesigning my logo for the third time since I branded myself NerdScarf. The thing I find hardest about designing a logo is coming up with something that is simple but still effectively communicates what the company is all about. With this new logo design, I wanted to push my creativity to see if I could come up with something that captures the personality of NerdScarf, but still follows the rules of logo designs.
NerdScarf as a company has always been about having a good time. I came up with the name NerdScarf because it spoke true to who I was as a person and a photographer. I’m a nerd because I wear my glasses 100% of the time, and 95% of the time I have some sort of scarf on. My scarf is my signature. It gives me the quirkiness and audacity needed to try new things and start seeing things differently.
Through my photography I try to capture my subject’s personality and character. Character is who you are when no-one is looking, and I try to ring that meaning true through my work. I am the true definition of a lurker. I like to hid in the background and watch how people move and their mannerisms to see what it is about them that I can capture and make permanent.
This is my love, so I’m not going to stop till it is perfect. You should never settle for 2nd best when it comes to something that you pour your heart and soul into. For now, I will continue to pour my hear into this logo until it is 100% to my satisfaction, even if it mean coming back to it in another 3 year, or giving it to someone else to finish. This is just my first step towards my goal of making a name for myself.
